Mt Kurobegoro and Mt Yari - Day 2

North Alps hike day 2/3 (12km, 1695m gain, 9 hours).

On day 2 we set our sights on Mt Yari - its pointy peak makes it the most recognisable mountain in the North Alps. It looked absurdly far away, so it felt pretty crazy to think we were going to walk right up it. Along the way we passed the Sugoroku hut and spotted some raichou - including my first time seeing a male one! (They have a red patch on their heads).

The final climb up Mt Yari is pretty steep and a little nerve-wracking. From the top you can see down to the Yarigatake-sanso Lodge, where we spent the night.
