Sarutahiko Coffee (猿田彦珈琲) is an upscale coffee chain, and is where you would go if were looking for the Japanese equivalent of Starbucks. Arguably Sarutahiko might even be a little bit better - their interiors tend to be on the fancier side. It’s a nice place to spend a couple of hours on your laptop if you have some time to kill. Although they have WiFi, the one downside is that they don’t have any charging outlets so your stay will be limited by your laptop’s capacity. However otherwise they are quite laptop-friendly - there’s never any mention of a time limit, and there are always plenty of other people studying or working as well.
Like Starbucks, they also release limited edition seasonal drinks. My personal favourite was when they did this lemonade coffee in the summertime, while my least favourite was their amazake latte in the winter (it just tasted weird).
If you’re going to be a repeat visitor, I recommend downloading the app, which gives occasional deals like 10% off coupons.
My order: some sort of flavoured latte. 650 yen, soy milk available
