Warbling white-eye

These are a classic early spring bird in Japan - to be honest I didn’t even notice they existed until I started paying attention this year, and then I realised they were everywhere! They tend to flit about quite fast and it can be hard to get a photo, but you often see them feeding on flowering trees (like early-blooming Sakura varieties) so that’s probably your best bet of getting a picture of one.
