Blue Bottle Coffee

Blue Bottle Coffee is a pretty popular coffee chain in Japan - and they sell their beans on Amazon. They have two varieties, a light and a dark roast. It’s 1950 yen for 200g, so it’s not a bargain by any means, but the price is decent enough. I usually buy if it I happen to be buying something else on Amazon and have run out of beans at home.

The lighter roast - their Bright blend, is a little sour and I find it takes a little getting used to. It’s alright. But the darker Bold blend tastes pretty reasonable as a pour-over. Not necessarily something I repurchase because I really like it or anything, but it’s a convenient alternative to running out of beans and having to buy something from the supermarket (god forbid).

A picture of Emma's face

Hi, I'm Emma!

I'm a long-time lover of coffee - back in Sydney my go-to drink was always a soy cappucino. After I moved to Tokyo 4 years ago, I discovered the wonders of pour-over coffee and now I'm always on the lookout for new coffee beans to try. So far I've checked out 23 coffee shops and roasters here in Japan.
